The latest research shows that this higher risk may be related to having more body fat around the organs and in the abdomen area for Asians than the other counterpart populations. The good news is that diabetes is manageable and the risks can be prevented. Nevertheless, uncontrolled diabetes leads to costly complications including heart diseases and kidney failure.
